What to do, what to do.
It’s been a while since I’ve done anything with this website. With everything I went through in regards to my health over the winter and the recuperation that is still ongoing, I really haven’t had the time nor energy to figure out what I wanted to do with this website. Initially, I was going to use it as a place for primarily my sports related projects and opinions. Then I tied in my Internet radio station, Scott Spot Radio, as a way to keep up on the technical side of some of the things I do as a radio broadcaster.
As things progressed, I added Scott Spouts Sports. An hour-long weekly radio show that I broadcasted, not only on my own site, but also on Indianatalks.com. A show that allowed me to “spout off” about my views and opinions on the world of sports and also talk about some of the sports related topics going on in Indiana. Especially, topics related to high school sports. I fully expect Scott Spouts Sports to return. With all the health related issues that I had been going through, I just didn’t have the time or energy to fully devote to following sports as much as I love and wanted to. It also meant that it was hard to form an opinion on events that I really hadn’t watched firsthand. I was having to rely on other people’s reporting, which I felt might have made me a little biased. So I put Scott Spouts Sports on hiatus. I expect as we get closer to the beginning of high school football season, I’ll be back on the air spouting off once again.
One of the things you will always be able to find on my website are the upcoming dates when I will be on the air. You can always listen to me on XRBradio.com at noon and 5 PM with the XRB news, and at noon and 4 PM with XRB sports Monday through Friday. From time to time, you’ll also hear me on the air during one of XRB’s live remotes as I take over the studio.
I’ll have listed on the website, the upcoming schedule of games that I will be broadcasting primarily for audiosportsonline.net and XRBradio.com. I will also be putting up the links for the archives of the games that I broadcast.
You’ll still be able to hear Scott Spot Radio. I’ve added a couple of things to the playlist. Primarily, at the top of the hour, you’ll hear the time, temperature and forecast for the Kokomo, Indiana area. You will find a menu on the left hand side of this page that says Scott Spot Radio with the daily listing showing some of the special programming I have set up throughout the week. If you have an idea for something that you would like to hear, send me an email at email@example.com.
I’m also a bit of a weather buff. So I think you are also going to be seeing a lot more weather related posts on the site. My main focus will be what’s going on in and around Howard County. You can also follow me on twitter @bscottsspot where I’m sure my tweets will probably be more current than what will be posted on the site.
Oh yeah, I probably forgot to mention that my wife and I moved last year. We moved from Lebanon, Indiana to Kokomo, Indiana. While I will still be heavily involved with the goings-on in Hendricks, Marion and Hamilton counties in regards to my work for XRB and broadcasting Avon, Brownsburg, and Hamilton Southeastern athletics, I’m also looking to focus on the high schools and related athletics going on here in Howard County. I would love to do a weekly podcast or show focusing on what’s going on right here in Howard County.
So, you will likely see more and more Howard County related posts on my site. My wife and I are really enjoying life in Howard County and we are looking to get more involved in the community. Not only would I love to do the weekly podcast or show, but I would also like to start broadcasting some of the area schools games. We’ll see how that works out.
In the meantime, I’ll still be fiddling around with what I want to do with the site. I’m going to try to post more often on the site, though at times it may look like I’m duplicating things from Twitter or Facebook.
By the way, if you’re looking for the links to my Facebook page, Twitter account, email address and YouTube archives, you can find them on the left-hand side of this page.
Thanks for checking in!
