The Plainfield Quakers return to the Red Pride gymnasium tonight after splitting a pair of games last week in the Hendricks County boys basketball tournament in Avon.
After falling to the eventual tournament champion Brownsburg Bulldogs 65-39 in the opening game of the tournament, the Quakers defeated the host Avon Orioles 49-36 on the final day. Junior forward Max Kurkowski led Plainfield with a double-double scoring 26 points while grabbing 11 rebounds. Sophomore Nathan Mills fell one rebound shy of recording his own double-double as Mills grabbed 9 boards and scored 14 points for the Quakers. Mills continues to lead the Quakers in scoring (15.6) and blocks per game (2.9) on the season while Kurkowski leads the team in rebounds per game (7.1).
Tonight, Plainfield hosts the Knights of Northview High School out of the Western Indiana Conference and you can watch all the action on Audio Sports Online beginning at 7:20 PM with the pregame show. Then join Christopher Worley and myself for all the action of Red Pride basketball when the Quakers and Knights tip things off at 7:30 PM.
