After a pair of impressive back-to-back wins earlier in the month, the Plainfield Quakers return to the Red Pride gymnasium tonight hoping a little home cooking is what’s needed to snap a three game losing streak.
The competition has been tough over the past three games culminating in a 102-50 loss at Terre Haute South last Saturday. The Braves scored 36 points from behind the arc and also took advantage of 26 Quaker turnovers. Junior Max Kurkowski led Plainfield with 12 points and sophomore Nathan Mills had 11 for the Red Pride.
Tonight, the Quakers welcome Greenwood in a Mid-State Conference matchup. Both teams are looking for their first win in conference play. The Woodmen are looking to snap a five game losing streak after falling to Roncalli last Saturday 54-38. The Woodmen are led senior Spencer Isenthall who leads the team in points (12.8), rebounds (9.3) and blocks (1.4) per game. Junior Justin Conley leads the team in assists (3.5) and is second on the team in points (9.8).
Mills leads the Red Pride in points per game (16.4) as well as blocks (3.0) while Kurkowski averages 6.3 rebounds per game.
