The 2014-2015 IHSAA boys basketball season is winding down with the pairings for the IHSAA boys basketball set to be revealed this weekend. The Brownsburg Bulldogs have three games remaining on their docket with two of those games taking place in the friendly confines of the Varsity Fieldhouse at Brownsburg High School. Tonight, the Bulldogs play their final road game of the regular season when they travel to the Red Pride gymnasium to play the Plainfield Quakers.
This will be the second time the Bulldogs and Quakers have faced each other this season. Brownsburg defeated Plainfield 65-39 to tipoff the Hendricks County Boys Basketball Tournament at Avon back on January 7th. The Bulldogs took advantage of early turnover problems by the Quakers to take an 18-4 lead after the first quarter and continued to pressure Plainfield all game long contributing to 19 Plainfield turnovers with 12 of those turnovers directly related to Bulldog steals. Brownsburg’s Darrian Ringo led all scorers that night with 18 points to go along with 5 assists and 5 steals. K.J. Walton finished with 13 points and Jordache Mavunga had 12 points and 8 rebounds. The Quakers were led by Nathan Mills who had 13 points and 6 rebounds. Max Kurkowski grabbed 8 boards and had 9 points on the night.
Brownsburg has won 8 of their last 10 games including their last three straight. The Bulldogs defeated Shortridge last Thursday 55-37. Tyler Kirtz led Brownsburg with 15 points and was 3 of 5 from behind the arc. Walton finished with 13 and Ringo had 10.
Plainfield has won 2 of their last 3 contests including a 56-39 win over Cascade last Thursday. The Quakers overcame a one point deficit after the first quarter at 15-14 to limit the Cadets to 24 points the rest of the way. Kurkowski led the Quakers with 17 points, Mills had 14 and Reece Crawford chipped in a season high 12 points.
